MM. Timed Walk

The test of walking speed was completed by respondents aged 60 and over when it was judged safe to do so. Respondents were asked to walk a distance of 8 feet (244 cm) at their usual walking pace. This walk was performed twice by respondents, and the interviewer recorded the time taken using a stopwatch.
