The Harmonized CHARLS Life History is an age-sequenced collection of variables derived from the Life History interview of the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS). Using the Harmonized SHARE Life History and Harmonized ELSA Life History as models, Harmonized CHARLS Life History defines variables as identically as possible with the Harmonized SHARE Life History and Harmonized ELSA Life History to allow users to compare variables with all other Harmonized data sets. Documentation for each variable in Harmonized CHARLS Life History, including a description of its creation, the CHARLS variables used, and descriptive statistics, is detailed in the Harmonized CHARLS Life History codebook.
