Now I would lik e to assess the strength of your hand in a gripping exercise. I will ask you to squeeze this handle as hard as you can, just for a couple of seconds and thenlet go. I will tak e two alternate measurements from your right and your left hand. Would you be willing to have your handgrip measured?

NOW I WOULD LIK E TO ASSESS THE STRENGTH OF YOUR HAND IN A GRIPPING EXERCISE. I WILL ASK YOU TO SQUEEZE THIS HANDLE AS HARD AS YOU CAN, JUST FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS AND THENLET GO. IWER:Position the respondent correctly. Adjust dynamometer to hand size by turning the lever and reset arrow at zero. Explain the procedure once again. Let respondent have apractice with one hand. Use scorecard to record the results and enter results into computer after test is finished.

IWER:POSITION THE RESPONDENT CORRECTLY. ADJUST DYNAMOMETER TO HAND SIZE BY TURNING THE LEVER AND RESET ARROW AT ZERO. EXPLAIN THE PROCEDURE ONCE AGAIN. LET RESPONDENT HAVE APRACTICE WITH ONE HAND. USE SCORECARD TO RECORD THE RESULTS AND ENTER RESULTS INTO COMPUTER AFTER TEST IS FINISHED.
